Oil on K&N

Do you need to oil the k&n air filter if you have a pre-charger on it? My friend said you didn't and that the oil will mess up the engine

Yes you have to oil it and your friend is an idiot. The oil is what catches the dirt.

if you dont oil it you might as well not put it on. if you read the instructions it says that the oil is what stops the dirt. your buddy isnt to smart there.
