well this is kinda o/t...but one memory from my childhood sticks out as a lesson for me.

i was always allowed access to our gun cabinet and firearms. i could choose from over 40 rifles and shotguns to hunt and shoot with since i was old enought to carry a gun. but i was forbiddon to access the pistol compartments and handle any handgun. the minute my dad was outta the house i had a pistol in my hand. i geuss it was the "forbiddon fruit" or the mystery of it. so as i got older i rationalized that i wouldnt hide or make the mistake my father did. my children can at anytime ask to see or hold any of my firearms..ask questions etc. and at no time do my kids rush to see a firearm (such as when i come home from work or hunting when the gun is visable) the secrecy and mystery was removed from them at an early age and i feel so much better about it.

i guess that theology carried over to the rest of the "bad" things in this world. there is a lot of truth in what SGA said. men will chase woman forever. woman will deny they want to be chased...lol but in the end the components that cause the almighty "sex drive" will always be in yer face(sometimes literally:devil ) so why hide it. now i dont have a porn collection or stuff like that but i refuse to hide the reality that makes us humans. (although some girls ive known have been more animal like:devil but thats another story:eek: )

My wife and I are willing to talk to our very young kids about sex or whatever. We act as though is is not bad or naghty or anything like that but tell them it is a special thing for married people. A gift actually, that diminishes in value if not delt with in it's proper context (marriage).

Hopefully, if they encounter these things that we try to sheild them from (sex in its unintended context) they will react in sadness as people throw away a valuble gift. But not at embarrasement or feeling dirty at the mention or teaching in front of their friends. I would also add that I think it is better for parents to tell them these things in a more private setting first. They will believe the first person who tells them usually (it is much easier to learn then unlearn) so I want first crack at shaping them and not some government employee.

i took health class in 9th grade, they just called it health because there was some first aid in it but mostly it was sex ed. yeah Lrd Mx400ex they made us wacth that moive last year.
there was only 3 guys in my health class the rest were girls about 8 of them, ( my class has about 25 people, about 5/8 are girls) well the guys fell asleep and all the girls were all giggling and then all of the guys woke up and we were like "what the hell how did they get film of that?" and then they had a video about puberty and the teacher made us watch all about the guys and we only wacthed up to the girls up to the part when they talk about "that time of the month" and then the teacher was like, "well if you have any ?s you can ask your mothers"
