cannot get woodruff key off the shaft

I'm installing my sparks key right now and I can see the stock key, but I cannot get it off the shaft. Is it supposed to pop off? Should it come off easily or will I need force? I'm almost there just help me get these keys swapped.

You pulled the flywheel off?

My buddy did this awhile back. I wasnt there but it didnt take him much to do it.

would this work?

Using a PLASTIC or wooden drive or gentle screwdriver action tap the front and back of the key until it pivots and loosens in its groove, then gently tap it out

Yes I have the flywheel off. I haven't tried hitting it too much because I didn't know if I would have to hit it to get it off and if I didn't I don't want to mess it up. I'll try that. Thanks for the response nakomis0

hey have you tried out your quad with that key yet? is there a noticeable difference in power or responsivness?
