I have a Brand New 03 400EX, I noticed the Right Wheel has a very noticable Off Camber angle, Looking at it from the front, Right Wheel---> //-[] <---Left Wheel. I returned the bike back to the dealer and showed them , the dealer said only a few frames where Welded like this (JIG was set wrong?). Looking at the other 02-03's in our group I notice they have the same problems. Anyone else out there have this problem? Dealer told me they need to order a "Special Tool" to check if it's out of Tolerance, If it is, they'll replace the frame... :macho

If you didnt do it, they should replace it, no question about that:huh

It wouldn't suprise me one bit that it wasn't welded properly. Some of the '99-2000 frames had A-arm mounts that were not welded completely. Some other welds were also missed.

I bought my 2000 400ex, few months ago, I can tell that the shock mounts on the a-arms are obviously rewelded, i dont think i will worry about it though.:o

My '02 has that problem. When you get A-Arms you can adjust it out.

That is odd, I never noticed it on any 400ex that I have seen. Well atleast you dont have to pay for it.

That's what I thought, Just a Freak deal with my frame. Friend of mine turned downed 1 Brand New 400EX on the Showroom floor and 2 still in their boxes before the dealer found one without the Off-Camber...

My 2001 400ex has extra camber with the front right wheel as well, I changed the upper a-arm and the spindle and nothing changed it. Frame doesnt look bent, but it just has more camber. So now i have an extra spindle and a-arm. Heh.

It has been a while since I have had a stock ex but I have had two and both have had this problem. and the problem is not exact on every quad. The YFZ has a similar problem. The caster is different on the two wheels and not consistant on every quad. Also the horse power on most stock quads vary a little. Each manufacture has tolorances. and even if parts of the quad are off but still with in there tolorance they are demd OK by the manufacture.

For instance whne honda pics the motors that will go into RC's bike they down the assembly line and find the ones that are right on the button!!!!! not off at all!!!

My 2000 has that problem, I thought it could've been a bent a-arm but I've never rolled it or hit anything.
