I think i am getting a chain and sprocket kit. With a steel 15t front and steel 36t rear. Then i am getting a chain that will fit the 36t so i dont have to get a chain breaker for the stock chain. Anyways I am hoping this way the gears will be a little longer and not wind out so soon. But will it be harder to ride wheelies? I am just wondering because every now and then i like riding wheelies, beside riding mx and trails.

if you run a 15t in the front and a 36t in the back with some 18 inch tires it will be pretty close to stock if not a little higher, i love that setup.

I ran just a 36t, and I felt that it was pretty close to stock. It isn't as big of a difference as a 16t front. I could notice the added top end more than the low end loss. I now run a 16/36 combination, and I really like it. This is with 18 inch tires, but it still has a lot more top end. When I had the 20 inch tires during the winter for radar runs, I could really notice the low end loss, but it screamed up top pretty good when I got a good run. Now with the 18 inch Tamers, it is fast. It doesn't have the same acceleration as stock gearing, but it is real fast when I get going. I am probably close to 75-77mph, but I have yet to check it out with a radar gun to be completely accurate.

So anyway, I think you would be happy with a 36t rear. I felt the same way as you, I thought it winded out too fast, and I put that on and it was a lot better, at least for how I ride. Now on my track I use 2nd rather than 3rd or 4th on some corners/hills and it pulls a lot harder.

Castor, you should give it a try. With the 426, you do have the power to pull it... :D

Skemp--Youre right on the money with that gearing. I ran 77mph with 16/38 gearing at last 1/8 Drag I went to maxed out with 20" tires.

Ok thanks guys. That is what i figured, i would still have some low end w/ the 18's, but i needed this to add some top end.
