whats the MAX HP of a 416ex?

we are having a small debate over at z400central over some hp numbers ..... anyways I think you guys can help settle this

How much horsepower would a 416ex with the most radical cam, highest comp piston, fcr carb etc make ... you know all tited up!

I was thinking in the range of 42hp? am I off?

Not that I want to disapoint you or anything but the CT 440EX only make 38 HP so I dont think your litlle 416 has 42!!!

There are way to many things that make the HP numbers vary...:ermm:

rico's right there is way to many variables that determine HP but it is possible for a 416ex to be pushing 38 to 40 hp

thanks for the replies. if you guys click on the thread you can see a z400central member said he had his Z dynoed to 50hp. its got a full pipe, porting and a set of hotcams.

when I said it sounded a bit high he mentioned others bikes dynoed were right on .... like a 416ex with tons of mods got to 50hp.

I thought this was way off also .... and thats why I asked this question.

so ...... 50hp is about 8-10 ponies over what a 416ex could make? right?

I am not flaming .... I like the 400ex and I almost bought one ... we are just having a little debate. thanks for the help

that is very possible but do you think that a z 400 with stock bore and compression with a fmf power coreQ power bomb header port job and hot cams could possibly put out 50 HP

nope! maybe around 38-40 hp, my stock bore 400ex
with mods may run about 36-38 hp converted to alky add 10hp to that. and like you said miracles to happen. :D

And to think I just got rid of my 416 for a Cannondale Speed:huh What was I thinking? Should have got one of them there Z's or super 416's...Not trying to flame but it would take a pretty penny to turn 42 hp with a 416.

Take a look at gt thunger's site and there are ton's of dyno's there.

I can believe those figures. To get 50 hp you have to sink some serouse cash.. The only bike I have seen put out seriouse #'s from just a pipe and porting is a dale. Mike at FDO has print out's for a blaze that is pushing 46.7 hp with porting and pipe.
