300ex jetting

hi, I have a 300ex with a FMF Megamax 2 complete system and a K&N air filter. When I took out the spark plug while it was stock, it was fairly black. I figured that if it is black now, it should be fine with the filter and pipe. correct me if I am wrong. thank you. by the way, I ride in the desert, if that changes anything.

You are wrong. Go and get yourself a K&N jet kit and put the stage one in it. If you want it to be reliable. Stage 2 if don't care. I found the stage 1 ran better than the stage 2. Good Luck

u aint gotta have the K&N stage 1 jet kit u can just buy some plain ole main jets

what about moving the clip on the needle?

I have tried both and have had better luck with the K&N jet kit. The kit tells you what jet to run depending on what you have done to the bike. There again, I have found my 2001 300EX runs better with the stage one. Good Luck!

i have a t-4 silencer, and a k&n filter, with two 1 inch holes in my lid so what should i do, stage 1 or 2. i have a 300ex
