gas around head.

there seems to be gas around where the head and cylinder go together. what does this mean? also when i start it up when its cold it smokes a whole lot but when it warms up it stops smoking. 4 strokes arent supposed to smoke right? any idea why it would do this?

If it smokes on startup, it might have some scatches in the cylinder, and when everything warms up, they seel up. Might need a rebuild. Sounds like you have ablown head gasket if gas is leaking out of the head.

well if its smoking outa the side of the head and cyulinder, gas seems to be leaking, guess what, you blew a head gasket, ive blown 2 of them in the past 3 months, its sucks

if the smoke goes away after a while, your valve seals could be bad letting oil through the motor is off. my harley is doing the same thing:(

i tore my motor down today to replace the head gasket and i was wondering if there was any way to cheak if the valve seals are bad
