what is the best bore kit for a 300ex? is there anything smaller than a 330?

why would i want to get a 400ex when i like the way mine handles and everything else about it? i just want a little more out of it. i mean its only 281cc and for that i think it does great but could stand a little more.

I had bought another 300 that needed to be rebuilt and smoked like a 2stroke. I did'nt purchase a "kit", just bought what I needed after doing a bit of research on this site. At that time, Terry @ Marcum's ATV was the go-to guy & I ordered most from him.
I bored it .80over to a true 300cc, new Wiseco 10-1piston, White brothers cam (cause stock one was junk & unusable), it needed new rockers so I replaced both of those & new springs & seals too! While the shop had the cylinder, I had 'em port & polish, etc. I put it all together myself & I'm very happy with the improvement it made. It already had a full FMF exhaust & KN filter. I've never ridden a 330 but what I did to mine is a vast improvement over stock and I still my other stock 300ex to compare it to. And if I ever need to bore it out again I can (I did'nt want to incur the expense of resleeving & going HUGE):ermm:
I do need to run 93octane or more and make sure your jetting is where it should be. An oil cooler is next on the list, it def. runs hotter & I'm hoping to extend the life of the motor by doing so. Right after I replace the clutch.:D Also now need front shocks for better handling.....(where will it end???.... Yes, I think I do see a 400 in my future!!:p

There's all kinds of kits for the 300ex/250x.

You'd probably like a 297 (true 300) w/ 11:1 compression (can still run premium pump), cam, pipe, filter, rejet.

i did one a few years ago ,i just went .040 over and a 11 to 1 wiseco piston and exhaust,made a huge improvement over stock.
