Whats the deal with "bump" on posts here? Is that when the moderator strips out bad language or what?

Sorry if this is a lame question I've never seen it before.

its when you want your post or topic to go to the top of the page, "bumping" it up there

Its a reply that makes your thread or someone elses go to the top of the forum page....you can type anything to get it to the top also....like this reply im posting is going to make it go to the top....some people put ttt for to the top also....I guess they say bump so people know why they are posting....

you say "bump" like if your post has gone on to the next page or something like that so it goes back up to the top so more people can see it get it? :)
