I rode the new Z in the woods yesterday. It was some of the most rooted trails, I think you can ever ride on. I found the stock Z suspension to be excellent, light steering and fun to ride. With only a E series pipe, K&N filter, ProDesign Intake, DynoJet kit and Razer2's, it was way faster than my stock 400 and much more responsive. Personally, I am a cautious, but not SLOW rider, but the Z gave me more confidence to ride on the edge. The front brakes... they are almost too good...they will almost throw you over the bars if you brake in a hard turn. I have to give the Z a thumbs up!

Thanks, 400exdad, Your quad is great , but I do love the Z so far. Its great, just alillte weak, compared to my old mod 660r. But 400exdads quad does look SWEEEEEEEEEET, chrome, ploished cases, new tires (next week). Its all fun, just love to ride. We had sooooooooo much fun yesterday we rode around 35 miles in some ROUGH stuff. Next time maybe we can get some pics, of all the fun. Mad Matt (400exdads son) was GREAT!!! that was his 1st HARD ride with the BIG boys, he was GAS-IN on it the whole time, he did a perfect ride. Lots of fun!!!!

Thanks, I need to get some more recent pix of it, I have since added bars, hand guards, and an HMF black pc'd pipe. I just got to try it out this past weekend with the HMF, K&N/Noss and jet kit, it rips on the trails even better now.

for all those who still have stock z, do your z tend to stall easy??
you really have to feather the clutch as well as the throtle or else it stalls,.. i feel my ex you can let the clutch a lot faster and barely have any throtle...

also i find sometimes it rattles and sometimes it doesn't same with performance..i thought it would have more balls throught out the power band but it doesn't compared to my ex with pipe and jet kit...

anything else to look as of matience???

Its just geared alittle high for me, but the pipe/filter kit really helped it out. I almost geared it down one tooth on the ft, but I'm glad I did not. I'm looking at a 450 kit, or maybe bigger. I need more PUNCH on the fire roads and hills. I have had Warriors, Banshees, 400ex(440), Raptor, Tecate 4, 250r 88, and I like the Z in the really tight stuff. This is my 1st Suzuki, quad so I hope it holds together.

My friend's piped Z said that it stalls out or bogs when the gas vent it tangled up:huh :devil ... But I must add I was impressed with the power and all, but I really did not dig the high center of gravity, I felt more like I was driving a small truck, not an ATV.

I think the high center of gravity is an illusion, because the front fenders flair up so far. I don't think the Z feels tippy at all.

nnnnnnnnooooo it is not a illustion... i have both 400ex and z, and the ex sits a lot lower(seat height) with stock shocks and all.... and when i ride both i am scared to charge into the corner fast compared to my ex as well as jump it... i just don't like how high it sits...

And with the power, i feel it is all that what i thought it would be... i feel my ex has the same amount of power if more then the z... my ex has pipes and jets and all... maybe the z will liven up with pipes and jets etc...

i personaly would never buy one again... i just like it, i rather spend a couple more g and get a yzf or crf...

just my .02

I two wheel on my 400 more than I did Goochys Z. It could be his good tires or the quicker motor response that lets the Z break the back tires loose a little easier than my EX. I did't think it felt tippy at all.

Which 450 kit? Yoshi? CT? Trinity? GT Thunder?

He has the Yosh Z450 kit. Yosh did most of the motor work too.

as far as how it compares to a piped raptor(drag race)............he says that he beat a piped raptor last week. I did not see the race, but I have riddn both, and the yosh Z450 feels much faster.

:D You will LOVE the KFX (Z).... its a fun quad. Put a pipe/jet kit if you can, if not you need to get some air to it, and jet it up. It will help. I just got the KFX black hood today for my yellow Z. I just put UFO black bark busters, so it should look sweeeeeeeeeeet with the black hood......
