well today My rear sprocket snapped in half :huh so im just goin to get new sprockets front and back....So i was wondering what size sprockets would be best for for my 400ex and make it perform better....i kinda want it for more top end but i dont know....if anyone can help me that would be great :)

For slightly more top-end, I'd go with a 16 tooth. The 400ex has massive bottom end compared to its top-end.
I love my side-winder sprockets and krause chain! I dont think i'd ever go with another brand.
Renthals are holding up purty well on my 300ex also!
Just make sure and got with all the same brand name and you should be fine

I would have to agree with the 16 tooth front..

for the rear i suggest that you go with a 36t sprocket, that it prety much equivelent to a 16t front

oops I tried a 16 and 36 hated it, maybe try 15 and 36

For best all around use I think the stock gearing is the best. I tried a 16t up front on mine and didnt like it at all(that was with my old 416) I wouldnt own anything other than Sidewinder chain and sprockets. Its higher than the rest but thats becasue its the best!

Ya I thought that I liked stock gearing too.. I also thought that is what I had on my bike until we pulled it off this weekend and found out that it was a 16 tooth sprocket instead of a 15 :eek2: so I will stay with the 16/38 set up for now I guess
