well thye mount with just one small bracket. i looked them over really good johnny g's quad and i cant imagine it taking more then 3 or 4 minutes to install. it does say in the destructions that the lil tit needs to be removed from the thumb throttle. ill check that out(mine dont have no tits  )

So they mount to the bars by a clamp system? I have the Maier guards that mount through the lever pivot bolts and I hate them sense I have aftermarket. If those just clamp and dont interfere with anything Im going to be getting a new set of guards.

Pappy, can you post a pic of these installed on your bike? I'd like to see the whole package! I just ordered the same set of black/white ones for a trx450r. I think they'll look real good with a white IMS tank.

my brother and i just installed a set onto our 400ex. they were a breeze to put on and i think they look pretty sweet on it. if you are using a stock throttle assembly, the only thing that might be a pain is having to remove that little usless tap between the throttle box and the break reservoir. everything else is painless.

Pappy , you were correct abut PowerMadd being big in the snowmobile business . I sell many different kinds of hand guards at work and these PowerMadd hand guards are our biggest seller . I think alot of the guys like the fact that they have the insert that can be removed to allow more air flow . I've installed afew set on sleds and atvs for customers and they work great ... no complaints . A complete set up through were I work will run you about $85 Canadian .... might be cheaper for you guys in the USA to buy through us .

My youngest son is sponsored by Powermadd and we're happy with them on our quad. We have the black/chrome set and they do look good.:D
My youngest races a bike (Ktm 50) and the brackets don't hold up to a crash is the only bad part, as we found out this past weekend. But hey, what does though?

I got them on my quad they look great but i got the extensions make them bout the size of cycras:eek2: they look great and work good jsut make sure you tighten your braket bolts up good in mud races i didnt and i made them saggin down the whole race but they are the ebst ive ever ran and it took me bout 5 minutes to put on after you get the brakets installed tot he gaurds little advice to save some time there measure how much of the bolt taht goes from the bracket through the handgaurd ou need then grind the excess off its un-needed!

i prefer the wrap around stlye that mounts to the bars and inside the end of the bars. i think powermad makes a set like that. there way better than the normal ones. not only to they protect your hands, they also protect your levers

The wrap around thing is an accessory you add on

I don't care for the wrap around style. They make my hands feel closterphobic:eek:

Powermadd is really big into the snowmobile scene. I see them all over the place up here, especialy once winter comes. I got a set of them on my 250r, it took me about 10 or 15 minutes to get them on. The hardest part was figureing out where the spacers go to get the gards to line up with the ends of the bars, and cover the levers right.

I love my Powermadds.

It can be a bit of a challange to get them mounted in just the right spot on both sides, at the same level, without making your control positions uncomfortable.

But once you do get them on, they work great, and look great. Especially with the Hand Wrap Kit, they don't sag at all(pet peeve of mine, a lot of people I see running Powermadds have them hanging down, to where they do almost nothing), and they protect you from harder impacts.

Love em:D

powermadd hand gaurds are week. are raptor had em and it got tiped over in the snow and the mounting kit snaped. so they must not be strong as they seem. they look good though

they monted on my 400ex simple with msr dominator bars. the raptor with moose bars took for ever.

i had to get rid of em cause they wouldnt fit right on my fat bars.

on the raptor they had to be mounted taller up so that their was enough room for your hand to squiews the levers
