My friend is runnign a cr125, stock motor and a pipe, will it make a difference if he runs regular gas or powermist?

Race gas only needs to be used in a high compression engine. The higher octane in Race gas means that it has a higher resistance to detination. High compression engines cause more heat in the compression chamber so a gas with a higher octane rating is needed to keep from pinging or an all out meltdown. hope that helps

also race gas doesnt really add more power, ive been told this about race gas from a powermist tech or whatever.

on each powerstroke of the motor with pump gas your wheel will travel 4 inches and when you have race gas on each powerstroke the wheel will travel 6 inches.

correct me if im wrong but it does makes sense

Why would race gas make the wheels go farther for each power stroke of the engine?

I have a 2002 400ex that is stock except for yoshi pipe filter/airbox/jetting mods and I run sunoco purple 110 octane just for the fact that it has a shelf life of 3 or 4 month were pump gas seems to go stale after a few weeks, and it is just $3.99 a gal. from my local dealer.

WOW!!!!!!:eek2: 3.99 is CHEAP axspecially for 110 octane!!!! Over here its like 4.75-5.25 for that stuff!!!!! It sucks now that Im getting a 350 Im going to go half race and half Supreme! So thats like a 92-107-112 octane mixture. Is this ok to run witjha niks 350??? I defently think it will run hotter! :p

:huh No that is in no way even close to right.

RACE GAS JUST BURNS COOLER, WHICH LETS YOU RUN A HIGH COMPRESSION PISTON, AND THAT IS WHERE THE POWER COMES FROM. EACH STROKE OF THE MOTOR IS GOING TO PRODUCE THE SAME "TRAVEL" OF THE WHEEL NO MATTER IF ITS 200hp OR 11...

race gas runs cooler therefore making the motor perform better

Some race fuels have additives that will help lubricate the motors intake system also... Every once in a while I will run 117 Octane in my 406... It starts easier with it on colder days, an has maybe a little bit more throttle response... But usually I just run 93 Octane... Runs just the same.... Probably if you ran the same bikes with 117 and 93... The most significant way your going to be able to tell the difference in fuels,, is odor.... Race fuel is sweet smelling....
