The intake air tube(the clear tube) on a 400EX sucks air from underneath your gas tank and seat. I was thinking about cutting it so its pulling air from straight in front..Anyone think this would be a good idea. If you don't understand this question, pop off your seat and follow the clear plastic tube and see where it goes. I was gonna cut it straight off in front...This way, air would be forced into the air box...Sawicky:macho
leave it the way it is..not worth the effort I don't think. You have too much other crap in the way restricting airflow for it to really do anything...;)
If ya want more power remove your aibox lid and rejet again..you'll definitly feel a difference doin this..

Just take the whole thing off and fill the hole with the cap off a spray paint can. Note this only works if you also run no airbox lid

What jet sizes do you use whith just the airbox lidoff?

depends on other engine mods and your altitude, id try a 155-165 see which one works best.

I just trimerd mine down alittle..
I just opened up the end under the tankwhere it is rounded in I left the left hand bend because i ride through water :devil and i allso removed all the extra that is inside the airbox it helps alittle but like they said it still has a lot of bends in it :(
no rejet needed:)
