Hey guys, i just now purchased a 2000 400ex and it has a WB eseries pipe on it.

Ive driven a few miles and it runs and starts great. There are no backfires or anything to note.

Half the people i have talked to said i may not have to rejet, and others say i have to even tho it seems to run good.

Am i harming the motor etc ?

Help..

did you put the pipe on or did you buy it with the pipe?
I would check to see what it is jetted at anyway just to make sure.

Did it come with the pipe on it? If yes, did the guy you got it from re-jet when he put the pipe on?

I should have mentioned that...

I bought it with the pipe on it, and the lady that owned it told me that she DID NOT jet it.

Pull the plug, and see what color it is. Thats not 100% accruate, but will give you an idea. If its white you probably running a little lean.

If it doesn't have an aftermarket air filter, buy one first - decide how you want to run your airbox lid - then rejet it. All of the pipe makers state that you are suppose to rejet when you put the pipe on. If you want to ride before you get the filter and rejet, you could take out some of the disc and that will restrict the ehaust back closer to stock...

That i dont want to touch the airbox lid or filter...??

What do you think then......what if everything was stock other than the slip on..

Thanks

You still need to rejet probably, but you should really spend the $40 on the filter to make the pipe and the jetting the best it can be, IMHO.
