Chain Tension ?

How Much Play should there be in my Chain, on my 250X ? up and down, I've always heard an inch but is that an inch up and an inch down ? or a half an inch up and a half an inch down ?

....side to side what should there be in a good chain/worn out chain ??

Well you wanna test the chain slack with the rear suspension compressed,,and there should be around a 1 inch of slack total.
