Has anybody put the xr400 side case clutch cover on their 400ex? If so how did you plug the kick starter hole? Does the removable hinson cover bolt right up to it or does it still need modifying? Post pics, if you have any.

Yeah i think Taco is right. EX80 made his own plug for it but you can use a XR400 side case with the hinson cover and it'll work.. I've talked with Hinson about this and he said you sure can..plus EX80 is runnin now...thats proof enough..it's about $200 cheaper this route I believe...:eek:

i have the xr400 case....with a billet plug. hinson cover is on the way.

hardest part is getting the plug made....if you have access to a cnc machine and the ability to get it made...its the way to go.

freeze the plug with liguid nitrogen and it will be super tight, i think its more than 300 cheaper....the replacement hinson cover used to be 60$ what are they going for now Pappy? in my JL it said like 200$, i guess people are starting to find out about hinsons ripoff.

yeah if hinson is pissin on yer parade get the duncan its listed at $110 i believe. from what i understand tho...if you use the hinson xr400 cover you will also need a spacer plate....they are listed as the same part# tho so i dunno who is jerkin us around with the info:macho

send them SOB's at hinson an email:devil
