An extended swingarm on the 400EX is a good idea. The angle of the swingarm is very steep, which causes a lot of strain on the axle when landing a big jump. Same with the Raptor, they are both known for breaking axles.

Dune Surfer has a 426 and he doesn't seem to have to much trouble with the front coming up. I doubt a 416 will need a extended arm. It's always a good thing to have thou ecspecially if you got the money...

It is mostly prefrence. Before I tore mine down this winter I had a hard time with it pulling the front end in the woods and made it kinda hard to max out on speed in some area's.....I rode one with a +1.25 and loved it.

Exactly!
I will eventualy get one but the a-arms and shocks will be first. It isn't essential but very helpful.

i had a 406(have a 416 now) but i ahvent ridden the 416 yet, still breaking it in, and i had no trouble with the 406 wheeling when i didnt want it to, it did wheelie sometimes when coming out of corners but it was just a small wheelie, had no trouble with it

u can read my sig to see my mods but its really hard to keep the front end on the ground for me. first gear is pointless if u got traction and second gear is too. depending on the ground i sometimes start in 3rd just to keep it down but it still comes up once the clutch is out
