I've used K&N EVERYWHERE. I have had zero problems. I keep it clean though.

go with the k&n. i have one with outwear and it works great. no problems with it. it increases power along with a good pipe and jet kit.

K&N gets my vote... Do a search on this topic - I posted up a ton of filter performance info you may be interested in reading.

I agree, UNI or Sparks or WB Powerfilter. Foam is a lot less maintenece and I just feel safer with it on there. Just my 2 cents.

I have both, and i like both, i have seen some K&Ns let dirt in, but i never had a problem with mine ever, and mine doesnt have an outerware either. so who knows. K&N has more flow, but i like how the foam offer more protection.

I will agree that k&n filters flow better, but the reason that they flow better is because they don't trap dirt as good as a foam filter. A k&n is good in the sand because the size of sand is usually large and consistent. Dirt comes in all sizes, I've talked to a tech rep at k&n, and even they recommend running a foam prefilter in dusty conditions. To be honest the stock filter isn't really all that bad, it's just a single stage foam and an uni or a wb is dual stage. thats my 2 cents.

I run a UNI on my 300Ex, and i havent had to clean since we bought it (1/11/03). And i check it every friday. Which ever one you get i would get it off eBay, cause my friend got his UNI for 15.00$.
