Are steering dampers worth the money or not. I don't have a problem with my bars getting out of control, and I love them on my bikes, but I've never rode with one on a quad.

YES!

you'll be amazed at how less tired your arms are gonna be after installing one.

Steering dampers and stainless steel break lines are easily the two best mods for a quad.

Quadfather, what is the benefit other than durability for steel brake lines?

I have my Denton steering stabilizer on order. I rode a guys quad across a parking lot with a stabilizer and needed one.

do a search on it in the steering & suspension forum, you'll find out every body loves them!!! once i started riding with one i'll never ride my quad without one,you can ride alot harder & faster, I love mine!!!!

Buckeye:

You can't even compare rubber break lines to SS. Once you hit the breaks a couple times, the fluid gets extremely hot. The hot fluid makes the rubber lines very expandable, meaning that while you're applying the breaks, the pressure is expanding the lines more than it is pushing the piston in the caliper. With Stainless steel lines, every bit of the pressure goes to the caliper, all day long with no break fade.

Nearly every guy that has ridden my quad has switched to SS lines soon after.

I have one on my 250r and love it, the only problem is it made it more noticable when riding in rutted terrain that my frame is bent. But other than that wouldn't get rid of it, will get a straight frame soon though.

I agree with Quadfather. A Stabilizer and Brake Lines are two of the best mods you can buy. I would say the best by far is aftermarket Shocks...

Get the stablizer Well worth the money. No More Arm Pump (or very little) Makes a huge difference. Don't have the break lines yet. but they are on the list :D

i am gonna have to disagree. The best mods u can do is BY FAR the suspension. But a stabilizer to me is part of the suspension. But as far as the brake lines go, i think it all depends. Ive felt 400EXs that the brake lines were SUPER GUMMY and u had to pull them in all the way to the bars. but i keep mine bled and they are just as good as my dads Goodridge lines. I have felt a few rubber lines that were VERY firm and werent spngy at all. I personally wont get stainless steel lines just yet until i really notice mine getting spongy.

My stock lines never felt spongy i just got the new lines because I found a good deal on them...the stainless lines are an improvement over stockers. Go buy a brand spanky new 400ex...put 2 hours of ride time on it..then replace the lines and I promise you'll feel and love the new setup..

PS...extreme rides with his brakes on like an old women driver so he's not used to having good breaks..:D LMFAO

I have a Denton rebuildable one. I did a little research before I bought mine, and it seemed to be the most well liked, with a very strong reputation. It was around $150. For serious racers, the WER, or Scotts seemed to be the standard, but, they cost upwards of about $350.

I'm pretty sure they make them for the 300EX, too.

Yeah the WER, Scotts, and GPR are the best, but with the best you get a HUGE price tag. I think the ones like the Denton are good enough...

I HAVE THE DENTON ON MINE, IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE ON THE ROUGH TRAILS. IT'S A GOOD INVESTMENT. SOME PEOPLE SAY IT MAKES IT HARDER TO TURN THE HANDLE BARS, AND THEY DO SEEM A LITTLE STIFF AT FIRST, BUT AFTER A WHILE YOU WILL NOT NOTICE THE STIFFNESS, IF YOU NOTICE IT AT ALL...DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? ANYWAY, THATS WHAT I THINK...

I noticed that too, that it is harder to turn the bars. I ride trikes also(well haven't latety, motor needs comp. rebuild), so I'm used to kicking out the rear.
