Get tapered bearings and you shouldn't have to worry about them again.

that doesnt make any sense at all,i nor any of my friends have ever experienced anything like that.if you turn the carrier all the way up so the only way to turn it would be down( the chain would get tighter) and you needed it to rotate it all the way around to get it to tighten then 1:if your chain is new you need to cut some links or 2:you need a new chain because your old 1 is beat (stretched).tapered carriers' only difference is on the inside,not the outside where chain tensioning takes place.

my first set of axle bearings lasted 2 years and I do alot of water crossings.

i have to change my axle bearing about 2time each year, that's really suck, someone know which bearing is best and more cheap?? the honda bearing is about 3x more expensive than yamaha:mad:

make sure you grease the shat out of it when you put it back together. they should last at least a year. but it really depends on riding conditions. Mine lasted 2 years, when they went I got a LSR carrrier and twin row bearings. it has a grease fitting on it. the only downfall is you need to remove the carrier t oget at the fitting :huh
