View Full Version : News from Dad in saudi

04-07-2003, 01:41 AM
Well we've heard from dad somewhat. Good news I guess for him is they recieved a large shipment of non alcoholic beer (beer is illegal in suadi) so it might not be budwieser but they got beer and I'm sure that helps alot. They just received large generators to help cool things off in Tent City..which is what they are calling their area. At night the tents reach 100 degrees and they have to leave the tents shut so that dust, bugs and other critters dont' get in the tents with them. Most of the guys over there are getting a lung disease which is caused from inhaling so much sand...causes lots of coughing, laryngitis, and sore throats..they give them medication to help with this problem. They are on a high terrorist alert and said the snipers shooting into their camp are starting to slow down. His planes were also used in the capturing of the female POW so I think that has helped there morale SP?? They're getting more and more goodies everyday to help make life better,,,such as better food and more water.. $1 million a month is what we are spending just on H20 alone. Time of return for them is still unknown..there hearing anything from a month from now and up till June of 2004. Other than that he's doin well and says hi to the exrides guys/gals..God bless him and bring him home safe..:)

They should be flying in Bud by the C-130 full... Those guys (and gals) deserve an ice cold Bud at the end of a long day in the sand.. Screw the Saudi's.

Give him our best!

great to hear yer Dad is going well over there. may he be safe, come home soon and kick a** while over there :D

ok, the BEST way to get alcohol to the guys and gals out there:

y'know them shaving cream or deodorant aerosol cans with the little rubber plug in the bottom...
spray out all of the contents of said can. remonve rubber plug. clean inside of can. rplace contents with alcohol of your servicemember's choice(wont work with beer beer). replace rubber plug. put in care package and ship off to the troop. :)

i was in the first Gulf War and thats how my sisters used to get me my tequilla :D

Ye Ha!

04-09-2003, 08:04 AM
Here's a pic of his new home...:ermm: They've had more sandstorms for the last 2 days and are expecting more. From what i've been told,,they have at least 1 inch of sand covering everything inside their tents on an almost daily basis when the winds are whipping the sand around.. They just knock most of it off and lay down. Then in the mornins they comb the sand out of their hair, shack it out of there boots and cloths and start all over again..:( said it's been kinda slow but they are still makin the best of it out of what they can..

04-09-2003, 08:07 AM
pic would be nice....:o
