foot brake need help

[honda 400ex 69]

when i push my footbrake down it sticks to where i have to push it back up with my toe.

the brakes work fine

how would i fix this?

It seems like your problem is with in your mastercylinder.
Check everything out (pedal, M.S., and caliper) and try to see where you think the sticking is happening.
A master cylinder rebuild kit isnt too too expensive, order one and tear into it :p
Make sure your pedal mount is greased and the spring is on the right way.
Did it just start doing this or has it been getting worse and worse?

try taking your brake pedal off and cleaning up shaft that goes through the frame. if you ride in wet or muddy areas this srea is prone to getting crud build up there before re assembly be sure to grease it up well.(preferrebly waterproof grease). if it still sticks also check your mastercylinder. and make sure the return spring is functioning. hope this helps
