so u got plates and screws. when i broke my leg they put a rod inside the bone, and 2 screws on top and 2 on the bottom. hoe old r u? maybe they put the plates in cuz they figured ur still gonna grow. they told me that since im done growin that once they put the rod in they never will have to touch it again.

After seeing those pix, my quad is for sale!!! :)

Nah, it can't happen to me.... Thats what I use to say. I fractured my tibia at the knee on new years eve 2001. As a matter of fact it's bugging me a little this morning. I think twice before I do something risky, it was a LONG 12 weeks!

Hope it heals good. :macho

I did that on my blaster. My leg bent my brake pedal back. I guess I have pretty strong bones. I had a pretty big hunk of skin gone and a bruise that looked like someone hit me in the leg with a fastball but that was it. Pretty painful. Couldnt even think about jumping anything for a while.

That's some pretty sick stuff man . How long did it take to heal? I'm going on 2 months now and still atleast another 4 to go . I never seen that elastic thing done before either . Pretty interesting .

hard lesson ain't it kawasaki_ridah ....i still haven't broke nothing or had stitches in 30 years! lucky me!

The day before my accident , a girl I went out to the movies with asked me if I had ever broken anything while riding ... I said lucky for me I haven't ...

That was the mistake I made ... I had a bad feeling about it all that night and the next day for me saying I hadn't broke anything and didn't touch wood .... like the superstitious say . Sure enough , the next day I'm out riding and WHAM ... I had my leg shattered into 30 pieces.

kawasaki_ridah
10-07-2004, 09:22 PM
it was pretty deep, im not sure how deep my scars are pretty big and my leg swells alittle sometimes not too often tho. and sometimes when i land hard it like stings alittle kinda freaky i think it is just messed up nerves tho. i had the pins and plates taken out recently shew i hated waking up after surgery lol

it took about that long around 6 months but i started walking on my cast early cause summer was coming and i wanted to walk really bad!! sometimes i do catch my self limping alittle or helping it out, it gets on my nerves too i wish i could just walk right all the time. the elastic things the doctor called rubberbands and they were about 3 and 1/2 inches wide at one time, when i was still in the hospital. thats the first thing i broke also, well i broke my pinky a couple of times not bad tho, and when ever i jump now i always land harder on my right leg so my left wont hit hard just a habbit now. but the funny thing is im jumping higher now than i did then haha. my mom, dad, grandparents, and friends think im dumb for still riding, but its what i do. RIDING IS MY ANTI DRUG hahaha

the first time i went into surg. i woke up for like 4 min. they had me pumped with morphine lol i think i would rather go trough that again than get dumped! lmao

Quad18star
10-08-2004, 10:29 PM
When I had a surgery back in march , they pumped me on morphine afterwards .... but someone made a mistake in calculating how much they were giving me ... used the wrong body weight or some chit .... anyways they almost overdosed me . I was down to 4 breaths per minute . They gave me a needle with something that counter reacts all drugs that are in your system ( given to overdose patients ) .... they had to do it ever so slowly , because if they'd have given it all in one shot , I'd have died because of the pain from the surgery . It makes me wonder sometimes , where some of these medical people get their certificates !!!!!

Nah ... Im not able to walk until they do more bone graph from where the bone is missing . I'm off my feet until atleast February . Atleast I'm in a removable cast , so that I can start working my knee and ankle muscles .

kawasaki_ridah
10-09-2004, 05:24 AM

Oh yeah .... the morphine had me reaching for my puke bucket a few times a day . Just try puking , when you just got out of abdominal surgery .... one of the worst pains I've ever felt . I actually ripped the stitches from puking , which then led to me needing a blood transfusion cuz I lost so much . :grr:
