Yea really. You cant really go wrong with trying it out for 60 bucks either. And when i get my frame done, I want something that wont get chipped out either.

maggot... your a goof.. why are you bashing it so bad!?

Foxrage

Try por15.com
The reason i tried it is because 60 dollars compared to close to 200 after shipping your frame to get it PC is a big difference. It is suppose to be just as tough.

I know it doesnt look that great in the pics but it looks good in person plus it saved me alot of money and time. Ill get better pics of the whole 4 wheeler when its donew outside in the sun.

I have seen this stuff in person. It looks almost like a black pc frame. I was very impressed, so I am doing my lt230 rebuild it it, needed something for the lady freinds to ride. I was told that you can do the whole frame with the starter kit, and if not get two $30.00. This stuff is used on boats in salt water so you know its gotta be good stuff.

I stripped my frame really really good then cleaned it goo with some marine clean that came in the starter kit. Then washed it off then used some metal ready they sent in the starter kit. Then let it dry good and painted it on. You could probly get away with buying about 8oz of it to do a frame. But im doing a couple for some friends so ended up making money off the deal.

do you have any idea how this stuff lasts, such as fading and cracking and peeling?

Foxrage
04-07-2003, 01:17 PM
It is suppose to be very good against chips and cracks. They say if it is exposed to sunlight like a patio chair or something it will fade unless you cover it with another coat of different paint. L8er

Can you buy it at like an auto shop or walmart or do you have to go through the website?

fox, i just started my frame, they told me to use the blackcote as a topcoat because the regular POR15 will fade in the sun, how did u strip your frame, did u totally strip off all the paint, if so how did u do it? thanx

Foxrage
04-08-2003, 11:07 PM
O Well Mine doesnt usualy sit out in the sun very often in i notice some fade I guess i will redo it. I just used some DADs Easy striper from walmart best stripper i have used. It may take a while to scrup off though. Best bet is to pay like 50 bucks to get it sandblasted.

i got the majority of paint off, should i just put the por over the rest, its not rusty

Foxrage
04-09-2003, 03:01 PM
I wouldnt suggest it maybe a little bit but if any of the old paint comes off its comin off with it and could cause more and more paint to come off.

bklyn400ex
04-09-2003, 03:42 PM
did u have to thin out the POR or it went on smooth, and how many coats did u put on, and did it hold up good?

Foxrage
04-09-2003, 11:11 PM
I left it the way it was and just applied to coats. Im not sure how good it holds up on my frame but i have did some little parts and they seemed to hold up well.

how do you apply it to the frame? is it like a spray or a bursh on (that would look like crap.... ) or what?

04-10-2003, 03:33 PM
well the starter kit comes with 2 brushes so I think so, the paint dosn't show brush strokes I guess...-darren

bklyn400ex
04-10-2003, 04:15 PM
yea, there are no brush strokes

04-10-2003, 04:43 PM
it loosk to clumpy like it was put on thick and your have brush streaks or something but whatever floats your boat

i bought some car spray paint and did my whole 400 frame its a charcoal and looks like a z 400 and came out great pretty strong too  only cost me 12 bucks

Foxrage
04-10-2003, 05:05 PM
I bet it will last longer then any store bought paint.

bklyn400ex
04-10-2003, 05:39 PM
fox, i experimented with my bumper like a month ago, when the POR was fully dry, i hit it with a hammer, and it didnt chip at all, it did put a little dent in the paint, but it didnt go down 2 the metal

Foxrage
04-10-2003, 06:06 PM
I did to a test with a hammer, screw driver and everything i could find. It would take a really sharp nife with alot of pressure to scratch it. I dont know how well it will hold up against normal riding.

bklyn400ex
04-10-2003, 06:33 PM

04-11-2003, 02:21 PM

the way every1 is talking it soudns to thick to spray on? well...i guess if its like the spray gun my uncle has for doing houses and such then it has changeable "bits" for different thickness paints. but if i doesnt then it doesnt sound like u could?

bklyn400ex

you have to thin it out to spray it, they sell a thinner
