I'm putting in a new pilot jet and its about a quarter inch longer than the stock one. Can I still use it?:ermm:

yeah i noticed that my 42 pilot jet was longer than the factory jet also. just make sure it is the 21 series. they make a 22 series also but i am not sure what the difference is. i would assume it may have something to do with the threads. i liked the longer pilot because it was easier to put in.

The 22 series is for Yamaha's I believe.

I just ran into this tonight. I swapped my stock 38 for a 42 and it was 4.657mm longer than the stock 38. Just the end from the threads to where the screwdriver slot is was longer, not the part that screws into the carb.
