250EX jet needle?

I was going to raise the needle (lower the clip) on my 250EX, but when I pulled the needle the clip was already on the bottom slot. Have any of you 250 owners checked the needle and was yours set the same way from the factory. Also, Do you know of any jet/needle kits available for the 250EX?

Mine(actually wifes) was in the middle (3rd) groove. I tried the K&N kit for a Recon (same carb & basically the same engine). Starts and idles much better, I can pull at least one bike length on my friends 250EX in 100 yards and I weigh 50 lbs. more. Not much of a difference in speed but starting and engine response are noticeably improved.:)

Ours is in the bottom slot also and the needle only has three grooves.
