Don't worry about their accomodations, it keeps them hard. This is an example of the "Dogs of War" the infantry has gotta be hard. You get treated like a dog, you'll fight like one. All respect to the troops!

Try to pack everything you own into a duffel bag and live off of that. It is what they are trained to do.

How many of you can imagine packing everything that you can have plus every uniform and peice of clothing for 6 months and live in a 6ft long by 24" wide by 18" tall rack with your clothes and everything in a 6" deep space under you. Most of your walk in closets will sleep 6 and everything they own on a ship....


It's their job and most of them love it. Don't feel pity for what they do not have. Respect them for what they do and the pain they indure for you

yeah, that looks bad.....i was talking to my friends dad(retired major from the army) and he said that it may look like fun on tv, running around a shooting people, but once u get over there, u realize its not as fun as it seemed.....they fight for days on end without sleep....its a tough job and im proud to have people that are willing to fight for our country.....he also told me about some really cool anti tank rounds...one of which......heres how to describe it.....take both hands and form a circle(first finger to first finger, thumb to thumb)......now this round makes a hole about that size in the tank....if it goes in one side and out the other(all the way through the tank), if it doesnt hit you, the suction from it will suck you out of that hole:eek2: he said he saw the army do that with a sheep in the tank to demonstrate the power:eek: god bless the troops and i hope they make it home soon:macho

Not a pilot, mechanic, but I have flown one. Afterburner takeoff to 15,000 ft., 9.2 G's twice, mach 1.2, and every stunt known to man with pilot flying. Barrel rolls, alieron rolls, loop, split S, and 7.5 G's with me flying. Loads of fun, I can't even put it into words! We were in Northern Alberta. We buzzed some guys on a fishing boat so close that I could see the expression on his face! The pilot's life is a good one. If you're going to do it, start now and be very serious about your academics and extra-curricular activities. It's the most coveted job in the Air Force, and if you aren't serious and dedicated, believe me, someone else is!!
