My 3 week old 400EX made some funny noises today and then I got stuck in 2nd gear. Engine ran fine but I couldn't shift. I rode back to the trailhead slowly in second gear. I took it back to the honda dealer and they tell me they found metal shavings under the side covers. They seem to think I messed up a shift fork. In anycase, they are calling the regional headquarters to see if it is a warranty repair.
Do you think their diagnosis is correct?
Are they going to give me any grief over the warranty issue?
Should I just ask for a new motor? New quad?
