how do you cut your sillencer?

i was just wondering how you cut your silencer. i just read that some one cut there 3 1/4 inches. if you cut it does it just make more horsepower or what. and is it possible or worth it to cut a stock silencer. does it make it alot louder? thanks for all the help you can give me.

cutting it off, dosnt really make a BIG difference maybe just a little but not enough to get happy about:blah and far as noise goes its louder but not alot, it sound good:macho
