What does everyone think about the HMF slip ons
Power?
Noise?
Value?
It would go on my 1999 400ex w/ 416 kit and stg2 Hotcam
All opinions appreciated
Thanks

For the money good, Performance is good and noise I would say a little on the louder side but they have fixed that with their new quiet core ;)

Great pipe for the money! The low-to-mid gains are very impressive. I got the quiet-core insert for mine which took the decibels down a hair but doesn't sacrifice all that much power. I refuse to spend $300+ for just a slip-on. There was an exhaust shootout about a year ago with tons of pipes. The HMF slip-on was in the Top 5, outperforming many full systems.

I just got my HMF slip on as well. I also bought a Renthal 36t rear sprocket and a UNI filter to go with the pipe. The HMF with a stock front sprocket and a 36t rear will easily pull the front end up in 1st-3rd gear. You might want to get a full system since you have a built motor.

HMF makes a great pipe, I had a yoshi, and I got the HMF and I like it alot better, quiter and feels like more power down low. maybe a little less up on top, but you can feel it low - mid

Guy,

Sounds like the HMF might be the way to go. Is the fit and finish pretty good?

ya the best slip on... the only thing is there header does like nothing, but if u have a really built motor im sure u could tell the diffrance between slip on and full.

I've got one on my 416. It just a slip-on and it's the best bang for buck! It's loud, but I can pull the front end up thru 4th. low to mid is great and top is to bad. And like Guy said mine if with no trouble. But the bolt didn't line up right. I just got the top main bolt hold it on, and the clamp to the header.

Great pipe, buy it, I got the red one.:macho :D :devil

how would you know the header doesnt gain any power, have u tried one on your ex, with a modded motor you need a header for it to breath properly, otherwise you will be losing power, especialy if its ported
