Did anyone see the letter in DW (pg 26) about the stolen quads that were found near Lafeyette IN? Turns out there were over 200 found in a warehouse in Indy. Anyone in the regoin that has had a quad stolen might want to take the time to contact the Indy police and give them the serial numbers for your missing ride. It just might be in that warehouse.

The stolen 400 that I posted on here several months ago is one that is being looked for in that warehouse. Even if it's not there, it's nice to think that over 200 people might be getting their machines back.

Man I live in Lafayette and hadn't heard anything... That's awesome that those quads were found, but lets just hope they're not all torn up and that they get back to their rightful owners... Man I hate thiefs!!! :ermm:

Toro: I've heard nothing about any of the machines being torn apart or damaged. The warehouse seemed to be used as just a storage facility. Where they were going to be shipped next, God only knows.

What knucklehead would put over 200 stolen quads all in the same place to begin with? I'm just glad whoever it was that did it wasn't too bright.

When the police or someone finds some stolen quads there is usually 50+ quads at one location:eek2:

Well that is lucky for them, that they arent torn apart, and that they were found. The worst thing is buying something, then finding out its stolen... What to do, what to do.

Abut 10 yrs ago a budy bought a ragged out CR250, pumped about $3000 into it only to have it confiscated by the sheriffs dept. at his first MX race. Turned out it was stolen. The original owner got his bike back in better shape than it was in when it got ripped off, the thief got caught, and my buddy was out all the $$$.

As for any unclaimed quads, they will go to auction if the owners can't be located/contacted.

So, like I said before, if you live in the midwest and your quad was stolen, call the police in Indianapolis and give them the info on your machine and you might get lucky. Otherwise, someone at the auction will get lucky and own your machine legally.

I picked up the issue of dirtwheels on the newsstand a week ago, so I'd say it's this month's. It's either March or April. Page 26, readers letters, written by Josh, talks about Lafayette, IN.

i wouldn't limit it to quads stolen in the mid west. i have heard of bull dozers being stolen on the east coast and being found on the west coast years later.

Man I really hate theives, My buddy"s truck was stolen monday with all of his tools. He is a carpenter and had twenty years of tool in it, I feel really bad for him.
I came home from work early one day and found three guys stealing my tools. It turned out to be a real bad day for them. After I got through beating the crap out of them the cops arrested them and they ended up getting six months in jail:D
The best part was not losing my tools and not getting it trouble for pounding them. They were soooo shocked when I jumped them it was classic. Of course being 230lbs and growing up boxing helped a bit

I think the police normally answer calls made to "911"... The area code there is (317), so try (317)911.:huh :huh :huh
