im only 14 and no one will hire me. i turn 15 soon and i want a 400ex. i have my 250x that no one has bought and i dont think 1700obo is alot for it. my dad will not help me finance it(sign the papers once i get a job and i would be paying for it) do u guys know how i could get one? the only way i could think of is find someone around here and just ask them if i could do payments. what do u guys think

Ever think of dealing? You know you make lots of money and don't have to pay any taxes?

What about joining a gang?

Down with hope, up with dope!:D

I'm planning on getting a quad for racing mx with (and beingcompetitive with the ppl im riding with) but I'm going to wait and get a job, save up till i can pay in full (no payments is the only way to go IMO) and just ride what I have till i can afford it.....

Ya know, if you were in our positions, you would be doin the same damn thing. Did your daddy buy you your 400?

fiffer, you could look for a mint 400ex in your area. You can usually get good deals, sometimes for around $3K if your lucky and the 400 have few hours on it. That would be the best route to go if you are shooting for a 400ex. :)

i had a cr 125 before my 400ex..... i got good grades so i had the choice of a cr 125 or a 400ex i picked the 400 i was like 14 when i got it so i was like coool, striker did your parents buy u the 250ex?

u want something that performs good? sell the 250x and buy a early 90s cr it will perform better than nearly any stock quad solves the problem easy and thats exactly what i would of done if i was in your position

Actually they did, but would not let me put my money in on top of what the would pay for the 250 to get a bigger quad that I would not out-grow so fast. :grr

yeah well i got lucky like that but truth is i could go ride a atc 125 around and have fun and be happy, i pay for all my parts and stuff and ive prob put the cost of my quad back in it so its all good

you could probably find one on ebay or cycletrader. i found mine on cyle trader for 3200. and you could sell your 250x the same way.

I agree with this statement 100%!
I can honestly say that I have worked and earned everything that I own. I don't have a WHOLE lot, but what what I do have is mine. Sure, I have had a few breaks here and there that I took full advantage of but I did not abuse any of them;)
Too many kids these days expect everything right now, I even paid for half of my graduation present...1973 Honda XL175 in 1982. It wasn't much of a ride at the time but I treasured it, and put many, many hard miles on it. Finally gave it away about 8 years later.
Now re-read freeride132's statement....

i agree with all of freerides statements, when i was your age i had an 87' 230 quadsport and 1 of my friends had an 87' 250x and i wanted that x so bad cuz it ripped compared to mine, and it was a honda.i saved for 2 years sold the quadsport and bought an 89 rm125 for 1,300,blew it up 3 times so then it was bored .30 and smoked all the bikes around.besides, having an older less expensive simpler machine is a good way to learn how to work on them.the moral of the story is...it could be worse, you could be on a 230 quadsport and be that much further behind those raptors.
