I have a 250ex right now, and Im tired of it. I want to get me a CR125 and put black plastic on it and chrome everything else. Is the CR125 a reliable bike? What is top speed stock?

I have alot of experience with 125s.. They are reliable if you do the maintnence. ex> tighten chain, drain oil put new oil in, clean air filter and put skin on,keep cooling fluids good. It seems like alot to do but it isnt. Dont ever keep them topped out for a lengthy time.. you cant do that on premix or you will blow the engine.. Friends have had experience... They are awesome bikes for jumping... i had a kx125...bad me:mad: ..shoulda went honda... It blew up on me twice.. Thats becuz the person who had it before when it blew up all he did was throw a new piston in there, there was metal chunks in the bottom end.. it sucked. there top speed is about 74.

If you want top speed get a road bike. But seriously, if you get a CR, it'll be so much faster than your EX. Top speeds are about 70, but if thats all your lookng for, get a dual purpose, not a motocross 2 stroke.

Im not really lookin for somthing to just go top speed with. Just somthing that when I need to go top speed then it will smoke most others. And ive just built up my jumps on my track and my ex cant handle em.

how old are you and how tall? the new 125s are taller then the 250s...i have a 250:D ... They are nice for jumping.. and they have awesome amount of pickup.
