I heard it's good every once in a while to add a bit of 2 stroke oil in the gas tank to lube the engine nice. Do any of you guys ever do it?

You'd be insane not to do it..................if you have a two stroke, that is.

If the manufactures thought it would increase motor life they would put it in the owners manual of Honda, Suzuki, Dodge, Chevy. All use basically the same 4 stroke principle. I can't see what possible reason there would be to do so..... other than it smells pretty cool when it's running. All this IMHO.

when i first got my 300 there was oil in the bottom of the tank....i guess to help break in...i thought it was pretty wierd though

Oil has no place in the gas tank of a 4-stroke. It will thin out the fuel mixture and make it run lean. It isn't going to help anything, but it will smoke, stink, run bad and crud up the carb.
