When is honda coming out with something new?

I am waiting and waiting for some little hint of something coming from honda, i am sick of seeing 400's even though i respect them in everyway because they were top of the market in 2000, i still would like to see something different...Now the rumor is obviously a crf450 dirt bike motor in some incredible frame liquid cooled or someth8ing, but when? I am waiting to sell the 300, to buy this thing, but still nothing, and i fear nothing until fall or longer, what is honda up to? if worst comes to worst i will get a 400 and nothing else, nothing is better than the 400ex, just faster

hope yamaha doesnt come out with something quicker than honda either

if the yz450f motor is put in a quad, vs a crf450 motor in a quad, I must say the yz would win, the yz is very outstanding, and being a dirtbike fan for most of the time, i would say i would rather get the yz of my knowledge, unless honda really surprises me:eek2:

Yamaha won't use the YZ450f engine which only has four gears; they'll use the WR450f, it has five gears and electric start.


I got wind from a dealer that Hopnda is working on something new. It should be out sometime near the end of summer, hopefully. I do know this, when it gets here, it will own the track and trails. I just hope it won't be too wide.

i dont think honda will take the motor right out of the CRF because it dont have electric start... they will prolly mod it or something so it does though:cool:

Watch it be something like a 450ex or along those lines. Remember 93 and the "new" release was nothing but a bigger 250x? Or what about 99 when they just put the XR into a new chasis. I know it will own all the tracks and so forth, BUT, I just don't see anything too radical...I hope i'm wrong

Honda has been known to make the most reliable and trend setting quads.... I think they are just developing something that will make sure to stop the comp with reliability, design, and power. The 250R is known as one of the best quads ever made and the 400ex was the best of it's time when it came out... Even thou it is much less powerful than other quads out there people are still buying the 400ex because they are a honda. I went to the dealer this weekend where they usually have about 20-40 400's in stock and they were sold out of them besides two yellow ones..My friend picked up two red ones which will be arriving tomorrow....

Hopefully honda keeps to there past and delivers something to the industry that will make us all say wow......

i hope that honda does come out with something soon and that it is still under 6k american because i will be on a tight budjet for a new quad next year :rolleyes:

ok lemme ask you this? how many of you are really going to run out and buy a brand new honda or yamaha as soon as they release it ??!! seriously think about how many new quads come out and they all have some problems when they first come out (bugs that need to be worked out) i know for one that i will wait till they have been out for a year so i can see how many probs there really are !!

honestly how many problems did the 400ex have in 99? not many or if any! and that is why honda is taking there time, becasue the are the best and most reliable out there

300ex is right the reason why honda take like a year or 2 to design a new bike is becuase they don't give the lemons to the desperate public like look at the z/ kfx they have had there plague of problem until suzki got the feed back from the mags and the riders and then got off their arses and made it better so honda does that for us :)

If honda is smart, they will wait for yamaha to come out with their new sport quad, then honda will examine it, and make one slightly better than it, therefor getting more people to buy their better quad.

If honda comes out first, the yamaha will look just like it.

i guess another possable reason why the honda is taking a while to come out is because they will need to make a new frame that is better than a 400ex and r frame why? because has anyone ever looked at the dementions of a raptor and z400 there are all not off by more than an inch when comparied to a honda :rolleyes:
