My intake between the carb and motor is not getting a good seal. I had the same problem before, I took everything apart, and found that my old boot was cracking and had a chip or two around the edges. I ordered a new one and it solved the prob, but now about 4 months later its at it again, i checked it and everything it still looks like new, everything is okey doke. Would it be ok to silicone it on there?

silicone might work, one tyhing to help it not cracking again-make extra mounts so the carb dosnt giggle so much makeing the boot crack. I had that problem on my banshee I replaced them. I'd recommend replacing it again but if you silicone it make SURE it dosn't let any air in, it can really screw everything up(jetting would get lean because of too much air, could get dust in the engine, and the thing could crack even farther and that'd be really bad). just my 2 cents-darren

Romey
I have a 2000 ex also and when i called For Dirt Only regarding port and polish he asked me what year the quad was because he said there was a problem with the 2000 intakes leaking. Something about rubber only. newer ones have rubber over metal. If you replace i would buy one for a 2002 or 2003. Just a thought or try calling For Dirt only. Real cool guy to talk to.
