250X w/ CR250 rear Shock ?

My Friend put a Cr 250 Shock on his 93' TRX 300 and I want to do the same to my 250X, would this be an easy thing to do ? all of my friends keep telling me that all you have to do is take the origional shock out and slide the Cr one into the brackets, put the pin in, and that should be that....

I was wondering if this is true ?...and also if its not what kind of shock off another bike would I be able to put on the 250 because mine is blown i think and I'm looking for another one but don't want to buy a brand spankin new one and most likely will not be coming across any shocks for 250X's around here of 300EX's even aside from ordering new

well he did the swap to get sportier suspension than the stock suspension and he had accessability to a CR shock, which I also think I can get one fairley easiliy and my stock shock is blown ...I just want better suspension than the old stock honda offered

how much would you be willing to pay me for a 2002 300ex rear shock witrh less than 8 hrs on it mostly easy riding, no major jumps, but a few small ones.
