the purpose of an extended swing arm is so you don't start to wheely under hard excelleration so it put's more weight over the front wheels you it keeps the front wheels glued to the grownd :)

makes incredibly hard to wheelie, like he said, best applications are in drag racing when you need to keep the wheels on the ground for traction and high horsepower applications, they are great for drag racing in the dunes! but if your just playing around local riding areas i wouldn't reccomend spending the money on one, buy new shocks first, that'll make a better improvement for just trail riding, jumping, dunes, and track, basically everything shocks are great for, swingarms restrict play and fun rides

I only have a 300ex so it definately doesn't only help with high horsepower applications. I ony ride in the dunes...and my machine is definately not a drag racer but i did notice that it really improves traction when exiting corners. You can throw on the gas ad not worry about the front end popping up and loosing steering. Also, by lengthening the machines wheelbase it is more stable in whoops and doesn't tend to buck up and down so you can carry more speed. I say if you have the money, go for it.

I agree, Also the longer the swingarm the worst the handling:o

not on the 400 it handles better with +1 1/4:cool: could maybe affect the turning a lil

what would it handle better with 1 and 1/4 in longer swingarm? I figured it might add a little extra stability but I wouldn't think it would actually help the handling.

The 400 does really handle better with a +1 1/4" swingarm. It realy helps to keep the front end tracking around a corner. The 400 realy likes to hook up and unweight the front tires even if it dosent actualy lift them and this hinders cornering.
