I recently just installed my new master link. In order to get the clip on I had to leave the o-rings off. Does this really matter or make a difference? Will it ruin the chain or w/e? The whole chain has o-rings except for just this master link. I don't believe it will matter but just want to make sure. thanks

yes, you need to put the o-rings on, it is a little tough sometimes, you need to take pliers and squeeze the link together so you can get the clip on.

Either that or carry an extra master link for when that one breaks on the trail and leaves ya stranded.
O ring chains require O Ring master links...

yes its hard to get in but i have done it without before and i ended up having to take it out because after everything broke in and loosened up the clip fell off

you hit the nail on the head
put the o-rings on and put it through the chain and put the o-rings on the other side then the plate, you'll need to squeeze the link quite a bit, once you see the ridge for the clip you can put the clip on
