get a 8 plate kit. sparks has one and so do a bunch others. unless u have a lot of money then get the complete hinson 8 plate kit. but if u dont want to go with an 8 plate kit from a builder, then get stock plates and stiffer springs. i think from a cr500 would work. someone correct me if im wrong.

I say stick with OEM nothing beats it in durability

I have heard that the stock clutch plates are the best so id just get new stock ones. You probably only have to get the fiber clutch plates not the metal ones not sure what yours are like though.

go with the 8 plate setup or back to stock...stay clear of the EBC and dirt digger ones....I've read lots of bad things about them..

Last year I ran a FDO 8 plate kit and had no problems at all. This year I am running hinson and having all kinds of problems. Both use Honda plates along with sparks 8 plate set up. It doesn't matter what KIT you go with just use honda plates nothing beats them.

first question, no. i have a sparks 8 plate kit in my ex and still have the stocl basket. as long as ur basket dont have any grooves in it, then ull be fine. oh and ur lookin at around $700 i believe for the hinson set up.

i believe the builders 8 plate kits r 250r fibers and 300ex steels, and heavy duty springs, but i may be wrong. something to look into. but these kits r between $100 and $200.

I have the DirtDigger clutch with Hinson basket...so far so good. What bad things have you heard about them?? (this is on my 440...otherwise I would have left it stock). The only thing I have noticed is that my clutch will start slipping the teeniest tiniest bit when my oil needs to be changed. I try to change it more often (like every couple of races) but sometimes that doesn't happen, so it gets a little thin......but what things have you heard bad about the Dirt Digger clutch? Thanks!

Not often you hear this but.....get stock its the best! :p

Thats assuming you can't afford one of the expensive 8 plate setups...

If you like the oem clutch then install 8 fiber plates from a 400ex and 7 steel plates from a 250r with the FST spring kit. No other mods needed.

my tusk is the best from www.rockymountainatv.com ...it held up fine + I didnt have to sell my soul for it either at only $40 with EBC springs & you dont necessarliy always get what you pay for with everything......

edit:this is for stock motor..i dont know how well it would hold up on your 440...didnt see it untill I was finished

The Gt thunder 8 plate setup i had used 250r fibers and 300ex steels. And some barnett springs. And i had to get my inner hub machined. Don't know if its necessary but lazarus said it needs done so it got done.

My full hinson setup uses 400ex fibers and 250r steels.
