Removing Elka springs?

Can someone explain to me how to change the main springs on Elka shocks?

On the rear, just push down on the springs, then the two metal plates will pop out and the springs will just slide off. The fronts should be the same way, i can't really remember. Its not a difficult task

loosen up the preload all the way, then push down on the spring and have a friend remove the spring retainer on the bottom of the spring.

Thanks Jeff. Elka was nice enough to send me a softer set of springs for the shocks you sold me. Great customer service, I'm sure I'll be much happier now. :D
