Difference between 2 stroke and 4 stroke silencer packing?

just curious cause i need some by this weekend and the only stuff locally i can find is 2 stroke and they tell me it will work just fine. i wanna make sure before i go out and buy it.

4 stroke packins is more like........cloth. Its like woven cloth. Where 2 stroke packing is a little more loose. thats the best i can describe it. But packing is packing, i dont see why it wouldnt work.

what extremeracer said. if all u can get is 2 stroke and u need it, then it will work. my friend used to use insulation from his house to pack his dirt bike silencer. it never really lasted that long though.

i think it would have to do with the oil coming out of a 2 stroke.
