can i buy new stock rockers and have them hardened or do i need to buy a special brand????? usually how thick of a coating and of what??? how much are the stocks compared to aftermarket

WHY?? Just send your old ones in on a trade for hardened!:huh I don't see buying a new set and sending them off and paying the same thing I would pay for my worn out set!:huh :huh Doesn't add up!!:confused:

It would depend on the amout of wear they have on them. I made the mistake of putting HD spring and stock rockers when I did my 440. After about a year and a half it took the cam and rockers. Not a cheap fix. :( I bought new rockers from Honda and had them cyro-treated, or freeze hardened. I have maybe $120 in this, counting the rockers. I had the cover off a little while ago and everything looked like new yet. This engine has seen some high revs with the flat track racing I did last year. :D
I know some people don't believe in the cyro treating but seems to be working out for me.
It is just another option.......;)
