I was thinking about putting a 350X motor into my 300ex. What do you guys run for carbs on these, stock 350X carb? can you run a 400ex carb with it? How fast is it compared to the 300 motor? How do you like the 6 speed instead of the 5 speed? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanx guys

Either carb will work great for the 350x. The 350x engine is all around better than a 300ex engine. I would suggest doing a search on the topic, because it has been covered extensively in the past.

You should be able to use a 350X or 400EX carb for you conversion.

Why put a 300EX engine in your quad when you could have a 405cc/ 300EX TC Racing engine that will bolt right in - and I have one for $800.00 plus shipping...

How reliable is it? Whats the compression ratio? Can I run it on pump gas? What year motor, when were the mods done, how many hours on it?

I was told it a 1996 motor - I never checked the vin number. It has been very reliable for us though it does run fairly hot - but so does the 350X motor - however I never used an oil cooler. Yes, you can run on Sunoco 94 octane pump gas - I would not go any lower. What's all done - Piston & sleeve, heavy duty rod, oil flow mods, slight head mods, cam, and hardened rockers - I sure there is much more that I am not aware of...
The motor produces a ton of torque - I have it geared right now with a 14 / 34 and it pulls hard as heck...
