ask dg what jets they recomend with a filter and dg full pipe.yo have increased air flow so you also need to jet it up

For under $20, you can get a repair manual for your quad (it's more technical than a simple owner's manual)
It will tell you how to change your jets. It will also tell you how to change your oil, read your sparkplug, adjust your brakes, clean your filter... ect. All the things a girl needs to know to enjoy her quad to the fullest. :D

If you do a search on jetting you will find lots of info. Thre is a really good post named how to install a K&N jet kit that gives step by step instructions. You will need to rejet or risk burning your motor up. Worse case put your stock filter back on untill you rejet. Good luck:)

well u could be retarded like the rest of the people here and take apart half ur quad to get to ur carb then take that apart or u could just adjust ur mixture screw, but wait, why would u want to do things the easy way
u have a twin air filter and a dg pipe
lol:eek: the only two products on the atv market that perform worse than stock:p

I'm not sure who is retarted, but it aint us. You got a lotta nerve commin on here with 3 posts and sayin ***** like that! If you knew a damn thing, you wouldnt have said such a stupid comment. The air/fuel screw is for FINE tuning, which all of us retards already knew, but apparently you didnt.:huh If you do things half assed, they break. It takes me less 5 minutes to rejet my 400ex. If you keep talkin like that, ur not going to have a pleasant experience on this site.:grr So dont post if you have some nonsense that isnt going to help someone out.
It also said in ur profile that you are a technician of somesorts. all i got to say about that is :huh !

hon265mxer, what is wrong with rejeting the carb? It seems to me that you have this obsession with the air/fuel screw. You were saying the same stuff on that thread that I started. If it were just a matter of adjusting the screw then why have all these people had such good luck after rejetting? In my thread you were bragging that you were Honda certified. Did they only cover the air/fuel screw in the course? I'm beggining to think that's your answer to everything. If I got a flat tire, would you tell me to adjust the mixture screw?

Please, oh wise one, tell me more about this car-bu-rator you speak of.... but before you do, you might want to read this:

What's wrong with adjusting the air/fuel mixture screw?
I have bone stock 250X, and adjusting the mixture screw gave me an extra 74 horsepower!
When I blew up the transmission on my girlfriend's 400EX, I just adjusted the mixture screw, and now it runs like a dream.
Don't get me started on my R. I don't even have the engine in it yet and I'm already king of the drag hill, thanks to the mixture screw!:blah

I haven't modded my wifes yet. But it looks like to change the main jet, you have to take the float bowl off to get at it. Some of the high performance machines (400EX) let you remove a large plug from the bottom of the bowl and swap out the main jet very easily.
Anyway, it does not look like it will be a 5 minute job. Take your time, and take lots notes when you pull it apart. It should not be too dificult. It looks like it might be possible to get the bowl off without pulling the carb. That would be great! Remember "lefty loosey" when you are pulling screws, especially if you are working on it upside down. You don't want to strip anything out. If it seems to come apart hard, stop, take a breath and think about it for a minute.
I would not ride the quad if you suspect it is lean.
I see there are only two jets listed on Service Honda, so if you need to really fine tune it, DG may offer a jet kit for it. I would check with them.
The main jet is number 28 on the diagram below.
You've got a sharp lookin' wheeler there.
