What kind of tools did you use to cut them?

12-15-2001, 05:50 PM
Used a blue pencil to mark where i wanted the cuts.
Then took a hacksaw and cut just beside the line leaving enough room for error to make my final smoothing.
Then used a dremel tool to do my final smoothing out/shaving off all the rough edges left by the hacksaw.
My advice....take your time. My turned out just ok and it took me like 30-45 mins, but i wish i would have taken more time on it as i wish i would have made it "V"ed a little more. But overall im pretty happy.

teh best stock cut fenders on a 300 i have seen i think are my friend seth flynns. they look really awesome, the bike was really fast. had curtis sparks cam, port job, piston, shaved head i think, 34mm mikuni carb, sparks pipe, timing key, but anyway notice the "was fast". His dad took the bike out with some friends one night, got drunk, racin it up & down some road out in the country & it had a CDI box on it, so there was nothin to keep it from blowin up so anyway he kept on runnin it & ran it 1 second too many & sure nuff sent the rod through the casing & the head. what a shame

other than looks, why do people cut fenders?

Well i know with the stock fenders i couldn`t see my wheels worth a damn in a trail, now i can cut corners and watch out for stumps and what not. Also it is like night and day to me jumping the 300 with out the dumbo ears. With out the fenders i can control my front end in the air. With them it was a hairy situation in the air. I say cut them you will love it!

It is a mostly stock 2000. I have AC racing nerfs, unlimited CDI made by BJ`s performance, the carb has been rejetted 2 times and then finally sent to BJ`s Performance. Shockwares, 14T sproket,no headlight yadda yadda yadda, 20x11x9 turftamers on ITP 190`s and umm thats about it. Like i said mostly stock.
