I just read this on ATV Source and found it very interesting.

KAWASAKI SPONSORS HATFIELD McCOY TRAIL SYSTEM FOR 2003
Kawasaki, title sponsor for 2003, will sponsor off-road events

IRVINE, Calif., (date) – Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., announced that it is partnering with the Hatfield-McCoy Regional Recreation Authority to be title sponsor of the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System for 2003 as well as gold co-sponsor of four major off-road events to be held there this year.

As title sponsor, the Kawasaki name and slogan “Let the good times roll™” will be prominently displayed on all brochures, maps, and signs at visitor information facilities and trailheads. The Kawasaki name will also be boldly printed on official Hatfield-McCoy Trail System T-shirts sold to the public and worn by the staff. Plus, Kawasaki will have a web link on the Hatfield-McCoy’s web site, http://www.TrailsHeaven.com/, and visitors to Kawasaki.com will able to click on the Hatfield-McCoy trail link.

Kawasaki will also support the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System as a gold co-sponsor of four major off-road events to be held there this year. These include:

ATV Jamboree-in-the-Hills™, April 10-13
Dirt Days On the Hatfield-McCoy™, June 25-29
National ATV & Dirtbike Rally Week™, August 28-September 1
Hatfield-McCoy Trail Fest™, October 10-13
The first three events will be held at the Logan trailhead while the Hatfield-McCoy Trail Fest will take place at the Gilbert trailhead. Local Kawasaki dealers will be key participants at all four venues and will exhibit new Kawasaki motorcycles, ATVs and accessories.

Matthew Ballard, executive director of the Hatfield-McCoy Regional Recreation Authority, said Kawasaki’s sponsorship confirms that the trail system has gained national prominence with ATV and off-road motorcycle enthusiasts.

“Kawasaki’s partnership with the Hatfield-McCoy shows real leadership,” said Ballard. “We looking forward to working with them to promote responsible off-highway recreation in 2003.”

Rodger Howe, director of communications at Kawasaki, said sponsoring the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System has numerous benefits for off-highway recreation and the Kawasaki brand.

“There are very few public riding areas in the eastern United States, so the Hatfield-McCoy is a real boon for dirt bikers and ATVers,” said Howe. “We’re happy to be involved and to give people an opportunity to know more about Kawasaki and the products we offer.”

Located in the southwestern corner of West Virginia and covering three counties, the Hatfield-McCoy Trail officially opened in October of 2000 and today has more than 400 miles of trails of varying difficulty. The system is open year-round and can be accessed from four different trailheads.
