Red Pipes

Hi Group!

I have a 2000 Honda TRX 400 with at 440 Big Bore kit..

Started it up today, let it idle for about a minute, maybe minute and a half and the pipes were glowing red.

Is this common, as it happened to anyone else??

What could cause it to run so hot? Anything I could do to prevent this?

Sounds as if it needs a bigger pilot jet in it..

Running lean, could be jetting or air leak around carb.
